PRODUCTION TEAM LEADER (Food packaging)A well known food packaging manufacturing company based in JHB is looking for 2 Production Team Leaders is Reporting to the Production ManagerKEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Controlling and supervising the team to ensure production efficiencies of 85%Ensuring accurate completion of Production tally sheetsMonitoring raw material usage and ensuring that machines are filled continuously with correct materialsMonitoring machine and mould performanceReporting any faults on machines or moulds to the Production ManagerCorrecting machine and processing problems, and fault finding for machine breakdownsEnsuring all relevant documentation is completely accurately and timeouslyEnsuring packing and labeling is efficiently and correctly done as per customer requirementsControlling safety aspects for your team - ensuring adherence to all safety standardsMonitoring and maintaining Food Safety systemEnsuring correct paperwork is displayed at machines and completed correctlyLiaising with Quality inspectors continuously to ensure product standards are correctCoordinating all on-hold productsAllocating staff to relevant machine(s) as needed per staffing scheduleAssisting staff at machines as neededEnsure that operators perform tasks correctly for the team.Assisting staff with problems and issues as requiredProvide on the job training and instruction as requiredEnsuring that the production floor as a whole is clean and tidy. Ultimately the state of the department and its housekeeping is the Team Leaders responsibilityEnsure that everyone in the department, including guests and visitors, are wearing the proper PPEChecking operator hourly checklist every hourTo be considered for this position applicants must meet the following criteria:Be in possession of a Fitter or Millwright or Electrician trade or equivalent qualification in a mechanical fieldHave hydraulic and pneumatic experience ( Basic fault finding ability)Have at least 3-5 years experience in a production environmentGood conflict handling and management skillsAbility to problem solveHave a strong mechanical aptitudeAn ability to interact with employees at different levelsGood communication skillsIdentify and solve problems effectively (Analyse and fault finding ability)Logical and systematic approachA passion for QualityAn ability to handle conflict and to diffuse it constructivelySelf motivated, proactive and a willingness to work overtime when necessaryBasic computer skills (Excel)Must be willing to work shifts
