Production SupervisorAn exciting opportunity of Production Supervisor has become available at one of our clients in New Germany KZN. The ideal candidate for this role will be someone who is passionate, self-starter and someone who pays attention to detail.Duties & ResponsibilitiesPerformance Outputs PlanningLiaise with Operations Manager re current projections vs. actual salesReview/ adjust monthly Planning Schedule & Weekly PlansConduct weekly Production Meeting at Conversion & Daily Production meeting Extrusion, identify and action optimum programme to execute planned requirementsDiscover trends in market demand vs. stock, on hand (Finished, WIP, Raw and Packaging), identify potential shortfalls, recommend remedial actionReview plant availability (condition, planned maintenance, schedule, etc.)Review throughput requirement for shiftEnsure all production inputs and resources are in place (Staff, machines, materials, dies, weighing scales)Controlling (Production)Plant & People declared safe to operate at start-upMonitor production flow ito. Plant performance, compliance with safety and health standards, quality, and best-practice requirementsIdentify deviations from required standards and their causes, initiate corrective actionEnsure optimum Control Room & Operator liaison – discover and address gapsMonitor material batches, discover/ address nonconformancesIdentify and mitigate potential hazardsEnsure physical security of negotiable items (products, etc.)Oversee Process changes according to varying operating conditions – oversee manual interventions – log such changes and recommend changesDocumentationProduce reports on variable elements related to production e.g. daily/weekly production, maintenance, safetyInput production data into system (BOM)Produce statutory records as requiredEnsure availability of documentsProcuring of Local BuyoutsLeadershipSelect and appoint team membersEnable delivery capacity of team members through training, communication and setting clear performance standardsImplement a performance-enabling environment through working conditions, feedback on actual delivery, support, recognition and reward, fostering teamwork, fairness and other best-practice leadership processesDiscover sources of workplace conflict and resolve proactivelyDesired Experience & QualificationKnowledge, Skills and Abilities RequiredSoft SkillsAttention to DetailVerbal & Written CommunicationAnalytical ThinkingComputer SkillsOther Software PackagesTechnical SkillsRequired QualificationsTertiary qualification in Production Management or any similar qualification5 years of experience in a similar position with at least 3 years in managing a teamKnowledge within the Hardware or Retail sector would be advantageous.Knowledge of IQ Retail System would be advantageous.Package & RemunerationR30K Negotiable
