Production Planner | Air Defence | Salary Negotiable

The production planners responsibilities include monitoring inventory levels, regularly providing production status updates to management. You should also be able to closely monitor the production process to ensure that production orders are completed on time and within budget. To be successful as a production planner, you should be knowledgeable of material requirements planning and able to manage production deadlines. Ultimately, an exceptional production planner should demonstrate excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills to ensure that production operations run smoothly.Key responsibilities / main job duties:Evaluate MRP requirements and propose optimal supply solutions to the business. Schedule jobs in accordance with business requirements with MRP and considering the production schedule and procurement lead times. Coordinate and identify long lead time items and mitigate any bottlenecks caused by the long lead time items. Plan and implement the material planning for all electrical items. Prepare procurement data packs with the help of the project managers to ensure materials are delivered timeously.Coordinate and assist in managing external suppliers builds of electrical equipment.Identify and expedite critical items through the supply chain.Verify resource availability (material, equipment) required for production to deliver, ensuring optimal inventory levels are kept to a desired level. Promptly address and resolve production issues to minimize delays in production. Monitor and drive required changes to production schedules to ensure that deadlines are met.Promptly informing relevant departments of any changes that affects the current production schedules (Drawings and design changes).Participate in the development and implementation of an improved ERP system. Candidate requirements:Diploma (advantageous) or relevant experience in the supply chain and production environment, either as a production planner or relevant field.5 or more years experience as a production planner.Have own transport.Proficiency in all Microsoft applications.Sound knowledge of material requirements planning (MRP) and ERP related software.
