Key Responsibilities: Managing, leading and controlling day to day management of employees Ensuring that all employees are exposed to a healthy and safe environment Scheduling and conducting RTW sessions Production and Quality Standards: Managing an entire sofa production line from start to finish – frame making, poly, foam up, upholstery and bottoms and stubs. Ensuring that the units produced are on target for each department and are of the correct quality standard. Contributing to the greater goal of the Factory Training: Identifying all training needs and reporting to the Production Manager Performance Management: Monitoring individual performance to ensure set standards are maintained and achieved Contributing to the greater goal of the Factory Reporting: Recording all target statistics and data Effective Teamwork and Self-Management: Effective teamwork and self-management Qualifications and Experience: Grade 12 or NQF level 4 equivalence Production Diploma or Certificate advantageous Leadership skills 3-5 years experience in a Management role Experience in furniture manufacturing industry advantageous Production knowledge and experience Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Skills: Problem solving Judgment and decision making Tolerance Stress handling and resilience Rule orientation Self-management Excellence, quality orientated Ethical behavior Assertiveness Building and maintaining relationships Attention to detail Verbal and written communication Influencing Leadership Resilience Behaviors: Absenteeism management Resource planning Organization and control Risk analysis in terms of Health & Safety Hourly spot checking of PPE Continually driving best-in-class solutions and practices Staying relevant and up to date with legislation and new developments Taking ownership and accountability for tasks and activities Demonstrating a strong excellence/quality orientation Maintaining a positive attitude and responding openly to feedback Managing colleagues' and clients' expectations and communicating appropriately Managing own disruptive emotions and handling stress positively Preference will be given, but not limited to candidates from designated groups in terms of the Employment Equity Act.
