As the Production Manager, you will lead a team of staff, ensuring the seamless execution of daily operations to deliver high-quality products that meet customer requirements.This position will be based in Epping, Cape Town.Key Accountabilities:ProductionManage production process to achieve targets most efficiently and cost-effectively. This includes optimizing production processes, reducing waste, and minimizing downtime. Set goals, objectives, and standards of measurement for the factory. Meet delivery dates (OTIF) and communicate with planning.Quality ControlEnsuring that the products manufactured meet the required quality standards. Monitor and maintain quality control measures throughout the production process. Address and resolve any quality issues promptly.PlantResponsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the factory. This includes managing inventory, scheduling maintenance and repairs, and ensuring that all equipment is functioning optimally.Staff ManagementManaging and leading the team of employees in the factory. Ensure that staff is trained, motivated, and working efficiently. Provide regular feedback and coaching to ensure teams are working effectively. Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork and high performance.Health and SafetyResponsible for implementing and maintaining safety protocols and procedures, conducting safety audits, and ensuring compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.GeneralCommunicate effectively with all stakeholders, including senior management, customers, suppliers, other departments, Bargaining Council and Trade Union. Report on the factory's progress, achievements, challenges, and opportunities.Qualifications & Experience Requirements:Grade 12Relevant Diploma/ Degree in Engineering or Production/Operations Management would be advantageousMinimum of 10 years' experience in a manufacturing environment of which a minimum of 5 years' experience in a management roleFunctional Requirements:Sound experience understanding the production process and function and applying continuous improvement processes.Unwavering focus on delivering results and problem-solving.Strong analytical and decision-making skills.Strong people management and leadership skills.Ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations.Working Conditions: This is a full-time position which entails a minimum of 40 hours per week.The Production Manager works in a fast-paced environment that requires considerable multitasking.Shift work may be necessary due to operational requirements.Own transport & valid driver's license.
