Production ManagerGQEBERHA (Port Elizabeth – Eastern Cape) Our client in the manufacturing industry requires an experienced Production Manager in the operations team, reporting directly to the Business Operations Manager.Key Result Areas Monthly Production batch and equipment scheduling.Develop, communicate, and ensure production KPI`s are met and captured monthly, with investigations for targets not met.Ensure weekly and monthly schedule adherence is completed monthly, with the relevant comments, track performance and implement improvements for both WB & SB.Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems (e.g. non-conformances)Improve quality and reduce occurrences of reject batches – Track YoY performance for all KPIs and production metrics.Track rejection batches in Solvent Borne, Waterborne and ECoat calculate percentage of production volume.Track the WB uptime and make decisions, recommendations and ensure team implement the improvement actions.Ensure Monthly work away tracking and reduce work-away value on a continuous basis.Monitor capacity and report under and over issues to management, prevent idle mill through effective communication and collaboration with planning.Ensure packaging issuing and daily stock management process.Manage the raw material ordering and staging process for the clearcoat plant.Manage raw material sampling for testing of new stock and recertification, plus printing labels for stock on-site and off-site warehouse.Manage the utilization of the Warehouse Controller between the warehouse, production, and production administration, as and when required.Manage Team development (increase expertise and skills) (IDP)Manage team performance and ensure cross-training takes place.Identify and develop succession plan for direct and indirect reports.Manage cost centre budget expenses monthly.Improve Production dwell times through continuous improvement projects – WB.Track and Improve yield losses of batches in the WB and SB, EC sections.Manage and update Production HIRA, Aspects and Impacts register, Contingency Plan, Control Plan, FMEA.Perform yearly contingency testingEnsure that health and safety regulations are adhered to in functional areas of control.Manage and support SHEQ initiatives and objectives. (e.g. Monthly site environmental KPI and SHE meetings, plus objectives and projectsMonitor and review monthly maintenance objectives and targets, Planned Maintenance Schedule, Critical Spares List.Ensure monthly and annual Plant services are completed timeously and control costs Educational Qualifications ND Operations Management/Advanced Diploma or equivalent5 – 10 years' experience production management within the automotive manufacturingValid drivers' licenceHigh intermediate level of computer literacy (ERP & Excel essential)
