Production Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Manager for a manufacturing company based in Isando, Gauteng.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the production process, coordinating all production activities, and ensuring that the manufacturing process runs efficiently, meets quality standards, and adheres to customer deadlines.
Key Responsibilities: Implement production schedules to meet customer demands.
Coordinate production activities with other departments.
Allocate resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to maximize efficiency and productivity.
Monitor production processes and workflow, adjusting schedules and resources as necessary to address bottlenecks and delays.
Analyze production processes to identify areas for improvement and cost reduction while optimizing efficiency and productivity.
Conduct root cause analysis of production issues and implement corrective actions.
Implement inventory control measures to minimize waste.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
Personnel Management: Manage subordinates in line with company policies, procedures, and industry collective agreements.
Lead, motivate, train, and control allocated personnel.
Ensure subordinates record and report quality problems immediately.
Monitor and direct the workflow of subordinates.
Hold regular performance reviews and counsel employees where performance is not in line with standards.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages teamwork and continuous improvement.
Promote a culture of workplace safety.
Provide practical hands-on training and guidance.
Ensure team members deliver output and performance in line with company quality standards.
Communicate and confirm values, goals, and roles on an ongoing basis.
Address misconduct and conduct discipline and counseling within the limits of the disciplinary code.
Health and Safety: Ensure organizational health and safety standards and safe working practices are maintained.
Work safely and report on safety hazards or issues.
Report any accidents, incidents, and near misses.
Food (Product) Safety: Apply the site's food safety principles and standards.
Report any food safety hazards or issues to your Supervisor/Manager.
Comply with and maintain all GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) in relation to the Company's FSMS (Food Safety Management System).
Quality: Apply the company's quality principles and standards.
Maintain Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Reporting and Administration: Handle all reports and administration related to the position.General: Ensure the team knows what to do and where to find information if you are not available.
Inform yourself about and apply the company's principles and standards.
Set an example and be a role model for your team and others in the way you work and behave.
Self-Development and Growth: Conduct a realistic assessment of own strengths and development areas and undertake actions to address weaknesses.The employee accepts that he/she may be required to carry out any other tasks as required by management based on operational requirements. Qualifications and Experience: Secondary Education: Grade 12
Tertiary Education: NQF 6 in Production Management / Operations Management
Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience in a Production Manager role in the manufacturing industry
Competencies: Knowledge of plastic manufacturing.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and software programs, particularly Excel.
Strong people management and leadership skills.
