Production Manager

Our client a steel fabricator and manufacturer is urgently looking to employ an experienced Production Manager at their organizationLocation: Arnoldton, East LondonRequirements:Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering/ Be trade tested as a boilermaker/toolmaker/fitter and turner6+ years of Workshop Management experience in steel manufacturing or fabricationAbility to read technical drawings and specifications, interpret, plan and manufacture accordingly.Responsibilities:Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering/ Be trade tested as a boilermaker/toolmaker/fitter and turnerManage all activities within the production process, including maintenance and the workforce.Interact with Sales team and Operations manager on new projects, project scheduling and completion datesPlanning and solving production challenges as they arise ensuring enough resources on handHandle logistics, warehousing and stock of raw materials used in production.Analyse budgets and continuously control production costs, resource requirements and identify/rectify waste measures.Ensure that all equipment and machinery are properly operated and maintainedEnsure that manufacturing stays on schedule, within budget, and achieve the desired output goals.Create and implement organisational/production changes on an operative level.Ensuring products are manufactured to a certain quality standardEnsuring adequate scheduling of staff and evaluate the performance of production personnel (quality inspectors, workers etc.)Adhering to all health and safety standardsReview workers performance and identifying training needs
