Production Manager (FMCG)A well known packaging manufacturing company based in JHB South is looking for a Production Manager to manage and lead a production teamKEY RESPONSIBILITIESMust achieve Minimum 85% as per efficiency logsWaste of less than 1.4% of material issued as per weekly material consumption reportActual master batch usage = costed usage as per weekly material consumption reportEnsure no repetitive damage to moulds as per mould damage reportZero stock out of critical spares as per spares stock control sheetEnsure full utilization of planned maintenance allowance as per weekly planned maintenance reportImprovement of cycle times as per efficiency logs and production meeting minutes every hourEnsure less than 0.2% of sales returned by customers for manufacturing related defects as per customer return summaryEnsure zero justified customer complaintsCustomer complaints responded to within one hour and addressed within 24 hours (as per internal and external audit; verified NCQRs and customer return summary)Adherence to food safety procedures and zero findings (as per external and internal audit)Developing and manage a budget for Production in conjunction with Operations Manager and Finance Manager.Adherence to skills plan as per food safety management review report back.Ensure succession plan is in place for department as per succession plan.Retention of new employees in department and Low turnover of "A" graded employees.Compliance with HR & IR policies and proceduresEnsuring a safe working environment with100% compliance to the OHS Act as per safety reportMinimum required qualifications, skills and experience:Must have a BSc or BEng. Degree (Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics)Must have 5 to 10 years experience in a production environment and 3 to 5 years management levelMust have FMCG experience, Plastic or packaging experience is an advantageGood conflict handling and management skillsAbility to operate under pressureAbility to communicate with all levels and across departmentsAbility to develop budgets and apply analytical techniquesAbility to interpret data effectivelyAbility to develop and coach employees within the departmentAbility to implement HR procedures
