PRODUCTION MANAGER (Food Manufacturing) – Epping / Killarney, Cape Town R550 000 – R650 000 Basic Per Annum plus Benefits (Negotiable based on qualification and years of relevant experience) Our client, a highly reputable Global Food Manufacturer is in search of a dynamic Production Manager to join their team of professionals.

This role will report into the: General Manager Main Purpose of the Role: To manage the entire production process, ensuring that specifications are followed and GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practice) are adhered to at all times.
To meet all customer product requirements (order quantity and quality).
Qualification, Skills and Experience Required: Production Management or related Degree or Diploma, Postgraduate qualification is high advantageous!
Must have an understanding of food manufacturing and production 5 Years' relevant production management experience gained in the food manufacturing industry 6-8 Years experience gained within the FMCG/ food manufacturing working industry Knowledge of technical process and principles would be advantageous Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Methodologies would be advantageous Proven financial acumen and budgetary management expertise Solid report writing and presentation skills Proficiency in MS Office, with strong MS Excel capabilities Experience with PowerBI would be advantageous Valid driver's license and own reliable transport preferred Key Duties and Responsibilities: Planning and Organisation Ensure proper and accurate production planning Liaise with technical and maintenance departments to ensure optimal performance of the production function Resource Management/Allocation Ensure optimum use of production resources Maintain proper functioning of manufacturing equipment Lead and manage the various teams to produce results in line with customer expectations Lead and manage the productions teams ensuring optimal performance Supervise, mentor and motivate the respective teams Manage employee conduct according the company's Code of Behavior and take appropriate action where deviations occur Conduct and lead regular team meetings ("Let's Talk"), at level 3 Administration/Reporting Maintain all documentation required for due diligence.
Maintain accurate traceability throughout the production process Production Management Ensuring all orders are produced in full Ensuring all lines are producing at the required efficiency rates Proactively managing product yields; maintain waste within the requirement targets Risk and Compliance Maintain all relevant company policy requirements Comply with the necessary Occupational Health and Safety requirements Ensure compliance to all food safety regulations, allergen control, housekeeping and pest control Participate in personal hygiene checks Ensure compliance to all food safety legislation and regulations, organizational food safety management system requirements.
