About the Role
The Production - Geologist (Digital) will operate from Orica's Johannesburg offices.
This role is centered on fostering customer relationships, implementing digital solutions, supporting end users, and bridging the gap between customers and Orica's digital teams.
Key Objectives :
Support commercial deployment of new technologies.
Deliver excellent customer experiences.
Lead training, consultation, and implementation of Orica's digital solutions.
Collaborate with customers and internal teams to optimize Orica's solutions and products.
Responsibilities
Customer Training : Conduct workshops during solution implementation and periodic follow-ups.
Stakeholder Engagement : Maintain consistent communication with clients to review program status.
Cross-Department Collaboration : Work with customer departments (Geology, Geo-tech, GIS, Metallurgy, etc.)
to address challenges with Orica's solutions.
Issue Resolution : Serve as the primary contact for technical inquiries, coordinating with internal teams to resolve issues.
Strategic Advisory : Build trust with clients and ensure they derive maximum value from Orica's offerings.
Upselling Opportunities : Identify and develop potential additional service or product opportunities.
Roadmap Contribution : Provide feedback to product development and support teams.
Process Development : Establish scalable systems and procedures for introducing solutions globally.
Requirements
Qualifications & Skills :
Expertise in production geology and grade control (geostatistics, resource modeling, estimation, and reconciliation).
Strong technology skills, including managing data, models, and software applications.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Customer relationship management experience.
Drill and blast knowledge is advantageous.
Project management experience.
Comfortable with both office and field-based training and mentoring.
Other Requirements :
Willingness to travel internationally, including remote locations (up to 50%, with an average of 25%).
