Joining us means joining a caring, responsible, and innovative company where more than 70,000 people lead the way to greener and smarter mobility, worldwide.THE PURPOSE OF THE PRODUCTION CONTROLLER ROLE IS TO:Ensure the timely availability of components and documentation to satisfy production requirements.THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITY WILL BE:Tracking of required material for workstations in SAP and communicating Estimated Time of Arrival.Creating and managing an Excel material status report and communicating outstanding status to procurement using the SAP system.Releasing material networks in the SAP system and communicating to the warehouse.Identifying missing material for already delivered workstations and upcoming deliveries.Organising replacement material from the warehouse in case of loss, damage, or NCR in production.Ensuring that Minimum Stock levels are maintained during Production Execution.Conducting daily walkthroughs on the production line to identify potential material shortages and expedite accordingly.Liaising with supervisors in each station to compile a uniform list of critical items to expedite and distribute to relevant departments.Expediting urgent material from the warehouse and suppliers with the aim of a short turnaround time.Taking an integrational approach on expediting all missing material whether from CR, NCR etc.Returning NCR material to the warehouse and ensuring replacement material is returned to production.Maintaining an NCR tracker and communicating with procurement, Quality, and ESS replacement material.Updating relevant visual management boards with relevant missing material and communicating the information accordingly.Attending daily material meetings and providing feedback to production control.Managing consumable parts in production and maintaining a KPI.Must be able to work night and day shifts when required.The preferred candidate will meet the following requirements:National Diploma in related field (preferably supply chain).Knowledge of MRP based systems, preferably SAP.Working experience in material management and Production Planning.Hands-on experience in coordinating activities within an Operations environment.Experience in coordinating projects within a complex supply chain.The ideal candidate will have the following competencies:Must be self-directing.Proactive approach to time management - able to assess workload and deadlines and adjust style/approach to suit circumstances.Must be a team worker able to integrate and work on joint projects with others.Analytical skills.Work planning, organisation, and control.Proactive.Conversant with Microsoft Office.Valid driver's license is required.Own transport is required.We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those under consideration will be contacted.We will recruit according to the requirements of our Company's Employment Equity Plan.Alstom is the leading company in the mobility sector, solving the most interesting challenges for tomorrow's mobility.
