Production AnalystMain Duties: This is a more detailed definition of the Summary of Duties. Whenever possible, define WHAT, HOW and FOR WHAT PURPOSE. Also use words related to Management Duties such as: initiates, delegates, directs, supervises, controls, plans and checks.Responsible to ensure all emergency parts supply issues are solved pro-actively with all parties internal and external in order to avoid crippled units being built and line stoppages.Ensure all emergency supply issues are resolved.Monitor, track and control all material movements from the Warehouse to the line, via the STARD monitoring cockpit, to ensure uninterrupted supply from warehouses, as per set targets (agreed parameters).Investigating, analysis, updating and maintenance of Control Cycles and Material Master Overviews as and when required.Responsible for the tracking of emergency supply parts into the plant and then to production to ensure target achievement.Responsible to ensure proper tracking of part shortages (Root Cause) and report figures at the end of each shift.Decision making and co-ordination on need to call off emergency container(s).Responsible for the tracking of the manual requests on the shift (which is to be included on the Shift Report).Ensure the flow of information between the line and the material planners to avoid any confusion or incorrect information.Decision making on the proposal to block units in selectivity to R-10 in accordance with part shortages found or other risks to avoid crippled units and line stoppages, and if it is a 100% take rate part then input for decision to stop the affected area (e.g. Assembly or Bodyshop).To monitor and control JIT/JIS & Direct supply in order to prevent building crippled units and line stoppages.Liaise with the external warehouses and service providers to ensure parts are available within defined lead times for supply to the lines.Call-off of required parts from the external warehouses for emergency parts.Decision making on the priority of emergency parts to avoid stoppages (which includes re-directing of emergency containers between the warehouses to avoid crippled units and line stoppages).Ensure that all emergency parts (manual requested parts, parts where kollies called from external warehouse or parts where container called from depot) are counted by cycle counting to ensure that VPRD (and in general the available stock) values are accurate.Responsible for the emergency procedure when SAP goes down in the plant, and to coordinate the effort of supply of parts to the line (BMW line supply associates and JIT/JIS supply).Responsible to be aware of the daily engineering changes, and to pro-actively check.Responsible to be aware of the PÜ changes, and to pro-actively check.Responsible to ensure that all emergency parts and problem parts that may cause an emergency are counted and adjusted by the relevant department/team/person to maintain an accurate VPRD.Compilation of the relevant Shift reports and KPI overviews, as per STARD monitoring cockpit.Responsible to gather initial information on the reason for any stoppage or cripple, and to include this in the Shift Report.Updating the Shift Report with absenteeism figures across the Logistics areas on the shift.Escalation of topics that she/he cannot solve to the Shift Leader or relevant persons available or relevant departments available (e.g. IT when SAP goes down).Creation and preparation of data, analyses and presentations to aid the decision making for management.Description of Auxiliary Activities: Support Process Supporters and Process leaders to prevent any emergencies from being created.Improve/ analyse/ create efficient and sustainable logistics processes.Ensure logistical input accuracy for day-to-day logistics.Adhere to 5S and VPS standards in the Control Room.Job Requirements: Education: NDip - Logistics Management or NDip - Industrial Engineering or NDip - Information systems.SAP Knowledge/ Certification.Experience: Job related experience – Physical Logistics (Warehouse and Line supply processes).Preferably 4 years logistics experience.Good SAP Experience (to be able to investigate, understand and resolve supply processes).Problem solving by using all available logistical tools and monitoring Cockpits.DS&R Processes.Presentation skills.Leadership skills.Cross functional knowledge in material flow and assembly processes.Knowledge and Skills: Computer skills: MS Excel, SAP.Physical Logistics processes.Material Control and Supply.Knowledge in Engineering Changes.PÜ Processes.DS&R Processes.Cross cultural tolerance and experience with dealing at all levels in the organization structure.People management skills.SAP: Inventory and Warehouse Management (IWM), EMCC, ZLAPD.
