Minimum requirements for the role:A tertiary qualification in food technology (BSc food science, food technology) is essential for this role.Previous experience working in a food manufacturing QC/QA role.Previous experience with FSSC 22000, BRCGS, or ISO 22000.Basic knowledge of the foodstuffs, cosmetics and disinfectants act (54 of 1972).Must have strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.The successful candidate must be able to probe and investigate in a methodical manner to ensure root causes are identified.Must be computer literate (MS Office. Excel, PowerPoint).The successful candidate will be responsible for:Managing all product development and quality assurance functions ensuring that the planning, implementation, maintenance and running of BRCGS as well as scheduling all internal audits is conducted correctly.Ensuring product information and product specifications are in place and reviewed regularly for all products.Liaising with new product development technologists and innovations sector heads on receipt of new product developments and compiling final product specifications.Reviewing product information and specifications from suppliers to ensure they comply to local and relevant international legislation.Assisting the food safety team with internal auditing and raw material risk assessment reviews.Performing regulatory administrative tasks.Assisting with customer request for regulatory/ food safety documentation.Coordinating information required for regulatory requirements (e.g. Kosher & Halaal applications, GMO status, allergen information etc).Assisting with internal and external customer and supplier audits.Ensuring that information on customer's specification portals are up to date.Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
