We are looking for a Product Manager for Sport Medicine and Endoscopy to oversee the preparation and execution of marketing plans for launching and promoting assigned product lines within the South Africa region. Responsibilities include developing marketing materials, planning promotional activities, providing training and support to the sales force, monitoring market trends, and enhancing market intelligence. The role also involves maintaining customer contacts to follow up on promotional efforts effectively.
What you will do:
Assessing the impact of competitive dynamics and points of parity/difference through competitive analysis
Researching product features, uses, and competitive quality, and utilizing tools for gathering and collating competitive information
Collaborating on strategy documents and marketing plans, and translating marketing plans into actionable activities
Supporting the creation of business reviews, proposals, and accurately forecasting resource needs
Adhering to budgeting practices, participating in the budgeting cycle, and providing expense justification
Explaining budget variances and supporting financial models
Understanding customer needs, articulating value propositions, and tailoring product explanations to customer needs
Identifying value drivers for current and potential customers and surfacing new or unmet customer needs
Focusing product features on customer success factors and developing processes for customer engagement
Escalating issues impacting customer satisfaction and collaborating with KOL networks for customer insights
Maintaining networks for obtaining competitive information and adhering to protocols for data collection
Performing needs-based segmentation, identifying customer variables, and using competitive dynamics to inform segmentation
Generating and validating segmentation variables from customer insights
Leading value proposition development, describing desired customer behaviors, and writing target audience descriptions
Prioritizing evidence for customer value, collaborating with commercial teams, and developing positioning statements
What you need:
Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred
Minimum 3+ years of relevant Sales or Marketing experience in medical devices, ideally in Sport Medicine and Endoscopy
Excellent presentation and interpersonal communication skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Proven ability to manage multiple projects while adhering to established timelines
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication, with the ability to communicate/present to large groups
