Our client is seeking to employ a Product Engineer for a +/- 2-year contract for a new Project Launching soon. The ideal candidate will have good experience with vehicle production/assembly with a qualification/experience in Jigs, Fixtures or Metrology.
Responsibilities: Assisting supporting departments in pre-series build. Supporting launch team with:
Facility functionality Dimensional milestones Meisterbock acceptance Surface quality improvements Corrosion milestones Supporting series Production and Quality in achieving quality targets:
Dimensional targets Functional Stability BIW audits Final Vehicle audit DRR Flow-out Fitment trials, problem detections and resolution. Investigating build/audit related problems (root cause analysis, establishment and implementation of corrective actions). Assisting Process Engineer and CFT leader in designing and implementing new/modified facilities or gauges to improve the building process. Providing feedback in the form of written and visual presentations on corrective actions at Management Reviews. Managing problem sheets (Raising, follow up and closure of problem sheets). Ensuring stability of assemblies and coordinating the non-conformities found with relevant parties (Parts, Facilities and Process). Qualifications/Requirements: Extensive knowledge and experience of the Vehicle Building/Production process. National N Diploma/National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/Metrology. Toolmaker qualification/Trade (Tool-, Jig-, and Die). 3-5 years' experience in Jigs and Fixtures or 3-5 years' experience in Measuring Jigs and Fixtures. Technical problem solving of the build and assembly of vehicles. Experience in facility installation and measurements. Familiar with technical drawings. Good communication skills and report writing, presentations etc. Be willing to work overtime. Proficient in CAD, CATIA, Hyper KVS.
