Product Compliance Manager

Apple is seeking a Product Compliance Manager who will be responsible for supporting product certification and ensuring all requirements are met for importation and sale of Apple products in the Africa region. You will develop and implement strategies to facilitate engagements on regulatory and spectrum matters with external agencies and government regulatory authorities on matters concerning rules and policy as required to support Apple's product roadmap.DescriptionKey responsibilities:Support and manage hardware product certification of Apple products for Africa region.Track regulations and standard developments in Africa region.Gather and document intelligence on African country certification requirements.Scope out and identify certification partners within the African countries.Establish and maintain relationships with local regulators to facilitate engagement during NPI certification.Interface with spectrum management on regional spectrum matters, scoping the radio frequency spectrum landscape.Contribute to the culture of continuous improvement on certification processes, lead times, and operational efficiencies with innovative techniques.Support the team in preparing advocacy papers and providing input to consultations on technical, spectrum and regulatory matters.Tracking of local standard developments and participating in relevant Radio, EMC, SAR, and Safety technical committees relating to regulatory and standards development.Maintain structured communications with team members on various activities across the region.Manage communication with cross-functional departments in an efficient manner, including product project status reporting.Minimum QualificationsMinimum a degree in Electronic / Electrical / Telecommunications Engineering.Expert in EMC, wireless (Cellular/Wi-Fi/BT/SRD Technologies) regulations.Excellent project management skills.Consumer / IT products background, preferably in the Telecom and consumer electronics sector.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.Ambitious and dedicated, able to work independently and in multi-functional teams.Minimum 6 years experience in similar industry.Preferred QualificationsExperience in communication with Regulators, Regulatory Agencies, Standards Organizations, and other organizations responsible for regulation of wireless device testing, certification, importation, and sale.Background in product compliance, such as Safety, EMC, Radio, Medical Device, Cyber, AI Regulations, ETSI, and 3GPP standards.Experience using test equipment beneficial, such as a CMW 500, spectrum analyzer, power meter and other RF test equipment.Experience with wireless technologies like Cellular, WLAN, BT, UWB, NFC, WPT.Experience with mmWave 5G and knowledge of future technologies.Experience in regulatory, wireless engineering and telecommunications.People management experience with ability to perform reviews and appraisals.
