JOB DESCRIPTION: A highly motivated and experienced Stock / Procurement Controller with a proven track record of successfully managing inventory levels, monitoring stock movement and ensuring accuracy of stock records.
Responsible for procurement of local and international stock.
Takes responsibility for assessing cost effective / quality products, services and suppliers and negotiates supplier contracts.
Manages effective supplier relationships from end-to-end.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Procurement Identify and manage all suppliers to Company standards Create and maintain strong relationships with all suppliers Ensure accurate communication internally, to establish procurement requirements having consideration to supplier delivery and shipping commitments Continually develop and improve all procurement and stock control processes and procedures Estimate, establish and manage purchasing to budget Plan and organise inventory orders following the procurement process to ensure timely delivery of all supplies Review / evaluate all vendors and suppliers to optimise quality and cost Report on stockholding as required Liaise with Sales, Customer Service and the Managing Director to ensure optimal sock levels are maintained Maintain purchase records and other important data Negotiate pricing and supply contracts Use technology to advance procurement processes.
Stock Control Performs daily reviews of all stock to ensure appropriate ordering such that stock levels are optimally managed Creates systems and procedures for early detection of stock related issues Troubleshoots and manage problems with stock to conclusion, reporting progress at regular intervals Review the accuracy of orders received by Warehouse and checks balances against stock and inventory records Liaise with the Warehouse to ensure accurate receipt and management of inventory levels Monitor supplier performance Analyse and report all stock discrepancies Report all stock concerns to the Managing Director Communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Matric (with strong Mathematics and English results) Post Matric Logistics qualification EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED: 5 years experience as a Procurement / Stock controller FMCG or manufacturing environment Proficiency in inventory software systems Microsoft Office and Sage Strong numeracy and report writing Supplier Contracting capability Excellent communication skills Analytical, eye for detail, planning and controlling Critical problem-solving skills Competent decision maker Team player POPIA By Submitting your CV, you confirm that: We may retain your personal information in our database for future matching.
