PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To ensure optimal sourcing and timeous availability of Capital Goods and Services to reduce the Total Cost of Ownership across the company.
BALANCED SCORECARD PILLARS, ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY

Identify and assess level of continuous risk exposures in area of responsibility by considering exposures to business, financial, legal issues, people, equipment, material, environment, processes, etc.
Consider the level of risk, apply mitigation and implement control measures for residual risk (set objectives, minimum requirements, etc.)
Comply with SHEQ requirements (SHEQ Toolbox)
Utilise the Integrated Management System (IMS) to initiate, investigate and report SHEQ status us

CUSTOMERS

Ensure customer satisfaction and competitive practice throughout the Samancor Chrome Group, by engaging customers and end users regularly
Maintain and improve relationships with Samancor Chrome stakeholders
Resolve customer queries / complaints
Maintain and improve relationships with key Suppliers
Monitor Supplier performance through periodic evaluations
Log non-conformance reports as and when necessary

BUSINESS PROCESSES
Purchasing Management

Process and Administer all Capital Purchase Requisitions on Coupa system
Prepare and coordinate Adjudications and Sourcing Award Recommendations within mandate
Negotiate favourable commercial terms for all purchases with Internal customers and External Supplier
Drive compliance against Samancor Master Terms and Conditions for all purchases
Generate savings through negotiation, cost avoidance and economies of scale purchasing.
Maintain and enforce internal controls and procurement procedures
Assist Business Unit's with obtaining budget quotes
Track and keep record of all purchases per project/WBS
Ensure purchases are made within prescribed project budgets
Function as liaison between Suppliers and End Users
Apply Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) approach during Request for Quote (RFQ) and Award stages of Purchasing Process
Source new vendors and products by applying continuous improvement techniques
Collaborate with Transformation and Business Unit personnel to drive and meet host community procurement targets
Assist Accounts Payable Department with Invoice Queries
Keep abreast of trends in market pricing and rates of exchange
Perform all functions with highest level of integrity
Identify areas for contract, consulting with fellow members of Strategic Sourcing team
Assist immediate Supervisor to finalise contractual agreements and other ad hoc tasks
Assist with placement of monthly orders for Ore Concentrates
Facilitate creation of material codes for Ore's
Conduct supplier site audits for compliance to Commercial and SHEQ requirements
Participate in monthly capital meetings with Business Units

Reporting:

Assist to complete weekly and monthly reports
Monitor and report to BU's status of orders and delivery

Minimum qualifications:

Degree or National Diploma of Commerce, Law, Engineering or Supply Chain Management.
4 years' relevant experience
