Our extensive network throughout Southern Africa has been developed over 30 years, offering an exclusive supply chain solution, specializing in client and fleet requirements.IntroductionWe currently have an opportunity for a Procurement Officer – Technical Purchasing.Responsibilities:Identify and qualify potential suppliersBuild a reliable high-quality supplier and contractor baseNegotiate contracts with suppliers and agencies and manage day to day expensesIssue requests for quotations, evaluate quotations, analyze results and recommend suppliers in conformance with company standardsAnalyze product and supply chain costIdentify cost reduction opportunitiesEvaluate supplier performance, stability and institute improvements and corrective action as requiredManage supplier delivery and quality improvement initiativesMaintain procurement master filesCompile and evaluate data for various weekly, monthly, and annual reports (cost reduction, market fluctuation, supplier ratings, budget variance, supplier expenditure)Communicate with internal and external stakeholders on various issuesInitiate and implement improvements within the procurement department and the procurement processLiaise with respective specialist leaders in the business to identify specific requirements from the specialist suppliers and help secure the product and/or services requiredRespect and Care: Always show respect, care for and treat everyone fairly, put people firstIntegrity and Loyalty: Display loyalty, display integrity, do the right thing always!Can Do: Must have a can-do attitude, believe in yourself, and live out our values alwaysContinuous Improvement: Must be dedicated to continuous improvement, be innovative and constantly learning to keep aheadMinimum Requirements:Grade 12 – MatricComputer literate (SAP would be an added advantage)Proven track record in a similar role in an automotive/logistics/supply chain environmentExperienced in managing direct operational costsGood understanding of commercial vehicles, OEMs, franchises, and related suppliers in the automotive segmentStrong knowledge of commercial vehicles and fleet management expenses (fuel, maintenance, tyres etc.)Understand contracts and service level agreementsMust be an analytical thinkerDemonstrate a high level of integrity, professionalism, and excellent communication skillsAbility to multi-task, address and resolve issuesMust be able to handle and respond to situations in a professional and technically proficient mannerCandidate with previous experience in a procurement position from a fleet leasing, banking environment would be advantageous
