Job Specification: Procurement OfficerSalary: R20,000 - R30,000 per monthLocation: Rhodes, Western CapeOur client is seeking a highly organized and proactive Procurement Officer to manage the company's supply chain functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing specialized and general material procurement, procurement planning, inventory management, and the outsourcing of manufacturing services. The Procurement Officer will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services, maintaining supplier relationships, and managing the overall supply chain process.Key Responsibilities:Material Procurement: Manage the procurement of specialized and general materials in line with company requirements and specifications.Procurement Planning: Collaborate with internal departments to forecast material needs and develop procurement plans to meet operational demands.Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels are maintained and minimize disruptions in production or operations.Outsourcing Manufacturing Services: Manage the outsourcing of manufacturing services, ensuring the timely delivery of outsourced materials and services.Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules, and address any supplier-related issues or concerns.Purchase Orders: Issue and track purchase orders to ensure timely and accurate procurement.Palladium System Knowledge: Utilize the Palladium procurement system for purchase order processing, tracking, and supplier management.Coordinating Deliveries: Track and coordinate deliveries to ensure goods arrive on time and meet required quality standards.Key Requirements:Previous experience in procurement, supply chain management, or related fields.Strong knowledge of procurement processes, including material procurement, inventory management, and supplier relations.Familiarity with procurement software, specifically the Palladium system, is essential.Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a proven track record of managing supplier relationships.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.Education & Qualifications:A relevant qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.A minimum of 3 - 4 years of experience in a similar procurement or supply chain role is essential.If you are a motivated and experienced procurement professional looking for a new challenge, we would love to hear from you!
