Procurement Officer's responsibilities include strategizing to find the most cost-effective deals and suppliers.
The Procurement Officer's duty is to discover the best ways to minimize our procurement expenses so that the company can invest in its growth and people.The Procurement Officer will report and operate under the direction of the General Manager with the following tasks and responsibilities:Procurement Officer Responsibilities:Devise and employ fruitful sourcing strategiesDiscover the most profitable suppliers and initiate business partnershipsNegotiate with external vendors to secure the most advantageous termsApprove the ordering of necessary goods and services in terms of the company's policies and proceduresFinalize details of orders and deliveriesExamine and re-evaluate existing contracts, supply contracts and service level agreementsTrack and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectivenessCollaborate with key persons to ensure the clarity of the specifications and expectations of the companyForesee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers and clientsAnticipate unfavourable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategiesPerform risk management regarding supply contracts and agreementsControl spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costsTracking of asset purchases, asset effectiveness and protection of assetsRequirementsThree years proven working experience as a procurement OfficerKnowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a dexterity in "reading" the marketTalent in negotiations and networkingGood knowledge of supplier or third party management softwareAptitude in decision-making and working with numbersExperience in collecting and analysing dataStrong leadership capabilitiesDiploma in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or Business Administration.
