1. Job Purpose
The purpose of the Procurement Manager is to design, implement, and manage a procuring strategy which enables the business to effectively source resources that allows the business to operate efficiently.
2. Job Objectives and Functions
Procuring strategy
Accountable for developing a procuring strategy which will guide internal stakeholders on the policies, principles and procedures to follow when requesting assets.
Responsible for reviewing the company's spend cube and identifying, proposing, and implementing procuring opportunities based on the information.
Responsible for the company's enterprise and supplier development strategies and initiatives.
Third party engagement
Accountable for engaging, negotiating, and managing the relationship between suppliers used to procure requested items.
Responsible for overseeing compliance by ensuring the selected suppliers comply with Barron's procurement/sourcing policy.
Responsible for supplier capacity planning as well as geographic capacity planning.
Accountable for ensuring that the goods sourced are within budget and advising heads of department if requested items are out of budget.
Accountable to oversee RFP processes to optimize sourcing value.
Accountable for responsible sourcing.
Supplier SLA management
Responsible for updating supplier master agreement(s) ensuring all relevant supplier information is collected and documented.
Responsible for legal review of agreements.
Responsible for updating and negotiating all payment terms with suppliers, ensuring the terms are signed by all relevant stakeholders, sent to the suppliers, and ensuring suppliers confirm receipt of the signed documents.
Responsible for sending codes of conduct to all current existing suppliers and ensuring they are aware of the terms contained in the document.
Manage and monitor supplier agreements by ensuring that all signed contracts are submitted as well as ensuring that all supporting documents and certifications are attached.
3. Job Requirements
Qualifications: Honours Degree in Supply Chain (NQF 8)
Knowledge: BEE legislation around procurement spend and Enterprise and Supplier Development; Costing models; Procuring Principles; Understanding contracts/Legal documents; Negotiation.
Experience: 4-6 years experience in a same or similar role (Procurement) in the Retail & Wholesale Industry.
Skills: Microsoft D356 (Finance), Numerical Comprehension, Tactical sourcing.
4. Reporting Structure
The position reports into the Chief Financial Officer.
