Key Responsibilities/Activities General Responsibilities Assist the Group Procurement Director in managing and controlling the placement of orders with key suppliers.
Plan and forecast Group supply chain requirements in collaboration with the Group Procurement Director.
Identify suitable suppliers for existing and future raw material (RM) requirements.
Support procurement projects and initiatives as directed by the Group Procurement Director.
Assist local teams in South Africa with accurate and efficient RM stock management.
Prepare budgets and forecasts when necessary.
Contribute to Promasidor's profit objectives by implementing cost-saving measures and improving procurement efficiencies.
Specific Responsibilities Liaise monthly with Promasidor destination teams, including South Africa, to determine optimum supply chain requirements.
Collect raw material data monthly from Promasidor operating companies, ensuring compliance with deadlines.
Place and monitor supplier orders, ensuring fulfillment aligns with requirements.
Maintain detailed records of supplier orders and produce supply chain reports.
Monitor supplier and shipping performance against set targets.
Manage an online archive of shipment documentation with assistance from local logistics teams.
Oversee the input of orders and shipping data into control schedules by local supply chain staff.
Coordinate with external inspection agencies and document suppliers (e.g., Bureau Veritas, Cotecna).
Troubleshoot shipping and transport issues in South Africa, ensuring compliance with pricing, licenses, and inspections.
Train and mentor local supply chain staff in South Africa to maintain high administrative and communication standards.
Monitor and rationalize packaging stocks to align with requirements and avoid obsolescence.
Assist in packaging artwork preparation and update the Group studio through the iPro system.
Manage supplier Non-Conformance Reports to ensure timely resolution (4-week turnaround).
Resolve product technical issues and participate in supplier meetings.
Compile data for annual freight tenders and Group marine insurance policy submissions.
Monitor and liaise on insurance claims related to losses incurred with destination countries.
Job Requirements Education and Experience A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field.
A minimum of 5–7 years of relevant experience in procurement, supply chain management, or logistics, preferably in a multinational organization.
Experience working within the South African supply chain environment is highly desirable.
Professional certification (e.g., CIPS, APICS) is an advantage.
