Job Title: Procurement Clerk with Buyer Experience Location: Kuilsriver, Cape Town Salary: R25 000 per month Employment type: Contract We are a leading civil engineering construction company specializing in pipeline construction, seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Procurement Clerk with buyer experience.
This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient procurement of materials and equipment necessary for our projects.
Key Responsibilities: Utilize expertise in civil engineering materials to assess quality and suitability for various projects.
Review and verify requisitions for accuracy, ensuring that all requests are justified and aligned with project needs.
Conduct thorough market research to identify the best prices for materials and equipment.
Obtain necessary approvals from relevant managers before finalizing purchases.
Execute purchase orders for materials, stock, and rental equipment, ensuring timely procurement to meet project timelines.
Facilitate effective communication between suppliers, project managers, and internal teams to manage delivery schedules and resolve any issues.
Collaborate with the storeman to monitor inventory levels, track stock movements, and ensure that materials are available when needed.
Minimum requirements: Minimum of three years of experience as a Procurement Clerk or Buyer in the civil engineering or construction industry.
Strong understanding of civil engineering materials, products, and procurement processes.
Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
A relevant degree or diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
