Purchase goods, materials and services to ensure that the company's operational needs are met, taking into account price, quality and delivery and to ensure continuity of supply.Duties and responsibilities:Purchase goods, materials, components or services in line with specified costs, quality and delivery targets.Supports the purchasing function and other relevant departments and communicate any supply problems which may impact on business operationsAct as an interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on purchasing processes, new projects and activitiesMonitor and advise on any issues which present risk or opportunity to the organizationMonitor market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliersProvides analysis on costs, new and existing and review cost reduction activitiesPrepares reports and updates as and when requiredNegotiates contracts, improve prices and terms of business with Suppliersand review opportunities to make business savings utilizing negotiation and procurement best practice tools and methods.Prepares and raise purchase orders and order schedulesLiaise with Head Office Finance to ensure that payment is made on time on Supplier invoices that have been submitted.Contacts suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery or invoice issuesBuild, maintain and manage supplier relationships and keep up good communicationEnsure that a professional and consistent approach is taken in relation to all supplier relationshipsEnsure compliance to company guidelines, purchasing policies and procedures during supplier negotiations and contracts award process.Conduct research for new components, materials and suppliersCompile data relating to supplier performance to enable evaluationQualifications and experience:Relevant business/commercial or manufacturing/engineering qualificationWorking knowledge of Syspro SystemPrevious experience of working in purchasing department within a manufacturing environmentGood communication in English and ability to read and write EnglishAbility liaise with colleagues from other departmentsAssertive, resilient and welcomes ChangeMoral courage, openness and honesty in all dealings
