Cape Town, South Africa | Posted on 18/10/2024 We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement and Contract Specialist to oversee and manage the procurement processes and contract negotiations within our organization. The ideal candidate will possess advanced academic qualifications (Master's degree, MBA, or PhD in a relevant field) and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. This role requires a strategic thinker with exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to foster supplier relationships. Responsibilities: Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals. Conduct market analysis to identify trends and opportunities for cost savings. Draft, negotiate, and finalize contracts with vendors and service providers. Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and manage contract renewals. Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to enhance collaboration. Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues that may arise. Work closely with internal departments (e.g., finance, legal, operations) to ensure procurement processes are efficient and compliant. Participate in cross-departmental projects to support organizational objectives. Identify and mitigate risks associated with procurement and contracts. Develop contingency plans to address potential supply chain disruptions. Assist in budget preparation and management for procurement activities. Analyse spending patterns and implement cost-saving initiatives. Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, savings achieved, and supplier performance. Utilize data analysis to inform decision-making and improve procurement practices Ensure procurement activities adhere to legal, ethical, and regulatory standards. Stay updated on industry best practices and incorporate them into procurement processes. Requirements Qualifications: Master's degree, MBA, or PhD in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement, contract management, or a related field. Proven track record of successful contract negotiations and supplier management. Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent negotiation and communication abilities. Proficient in procurement software and tools. Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
