The core responsibilities of the position include:
Oversee and execute continuous improvement initiatives for the Process Control Pillar.
Take a proactive role in guiding and facilitating process control across Cold Rolling mills, slitting, roll grinding, and furnaces.
Generate and analyse Cognex Reports.
Provide problem-solving expertise and production support.
Drive, monitor and communicate KPIs related to surface quality, flatness, gauge, and edge conditions in roll grinding, cold rolling, and slitting processes.
Lead Service Level Agreements (SLAs) between Cold Mills and both upstream and downstream operations.
Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and provide training to relevant department personnel.
Establish and maintain process control tools such as Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEA), Control Plans, Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts, Measurement System Analysis (MSA), and Visual Process Audits (VPA).
Conduct trials for cold rolling/pass schedule modelling and monitoring.
Enhance and sustain process capability to ensure customer satisfaction.
Collaborate with the production team to meet production targets on schedule.
Conduct internal and external audits to assess the quality systems, including ISO and IATF standards.
Required competencies and abilities:
A National Diploma or BTech in Engineering is the minimum educational requirement.
Proficiency in the core processes of the Cold Rolling area is essential.
Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing best practices is necessary.
Willingness to work shifts as needed, primarily in abnormal situations.
Possess knowledge and experience in equipment capability and maintenance.
Strong computer skills, along with proficiency in report writing and presentations.
Prior experience with ISO Quality Systems is preferred.
Capable of working both independently and collaboratively in a team.
Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills are a must.
Ability to proactively develop strategies to enhance key process related KPIs in the area.
