Job ResponsibilitiesMaintain and fault find on plant instrumentation e.g. PLC, Drives, etc.Ensure that all projects and modifications meet required specifications and deadlines by managing projects, adjudicating quotes, and ensuring compliance with required specifications and OSHAct.Become an integral part of future planning on the site, recommending methods that will improve the end product, justifying the purchase of the best equipment, and determining the life span of electronic equipment and plans for replacement.Understand and own plant classifications by checking existing systems, classifying new equipment, and re-classifying own equipment when required to focus maintenance on critical equipment and maintain correct spares and stock levels.Set test procedures by recommending limits and specifications for all electronic equipment, using specialized methods, obtaining standard test methods from suppliers, and conducting periodic checks to perform correct fault finding and comply with PG Bison standards.Manage changes to base documentation, i.e., manuals, P&ID, and all instrumentation drawings.Develop maintenance procedures in conjunction with the Engineering department by contacting suppliers of relevant equipment, utilizing manuals, P&ID, and engineering documentation, and reviewing existing maintenance procedures.Perform root cause analyses by understanding the design basis of the equipment, optimizing the energy consumption of the plant, and analyzing electrical stoppages.Work safely and promote job safety.Perform after-hours standby duty on the plant.Manage a team of Technicians.Required Minimum QualificationNational Diploma, B.Eng. or BSC in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.Recognized Engineering Trade Test.GCC will be an added advantage but not a prerequisite.Required Minimum ExperienceBetween 5-10 years of Engineering or Trade experience, of which 2-5 years should be in a management role.Advanced Automation will be an added advantage.Recommended Skills, Knowledge & QualitiesExcellent understanding of engineering standards.Sound knowledge of the OHSACT and regulations.Budget control, CAPEX, and Projects.Continuous improvement and preventative maintenance.
