Minimum requirements for the role:A BSc in chemical or industrial engineering is essential for this role.Previous experience having worked as a Process Engineer or an Industrial Engineer within the food processing and food manufacturing industry is preferred but not essential.Must have strong attention to detail for monitoring production processes and maintaining accurate records.Must have demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Proven experience in adhering to strict health and safety protocols.Commitment to continuous improvement and proactive maintenance.Ability to handle high-pressure situations effectively.Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.Proficiency in process optimization tools and lean manufacturing techniques.The successful candidate will be responsible for:Overseeing and managing all aspects of factory operations, working with a variety of different meat and food processing equipment which includes milling, steam sterilization, blending machinery etc.Developing, monitoring, and optimising production processes to ensure efficiency and quality standards.Preparing proposals on machinery performance and improvements, including analysing and measuring output in terms of hours, units, and efficiency.Ensuring all production activities comply with food safety standards and regulations.Supervising production teams, assigning tasks and ensuring adherence to processes, production plans and deadlines.Monitoring machinery performance, troubleshoot issues, and coordinating maintenance or upgrades.Managing production metrics accurately and report the same.Analysing and optimising food manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.Designing and implementing new processes and equipment to meet production demands and ensure scalability.Collaborating with R&D and production teams to introduce new products and ensuring seamless integration into existing processes.Monitoring and troubleshooting production lines, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.Developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all processes and equipment.Monitoring production data and KPIs, identifying trends and implementing corrective actions when necessary.Leading capital projects related to equipment upgrades, process improvements, or new production lines.Liaising with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with specifications and deadlines.Staying updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practicesSalary: R MonthlyJob Reference #: 1147472
