Duties and Responsibilities: · The candidate will be trained and coached on blast furnace and cupola process, utilizing the formal and structured training programs as well as less formal training techniques and opportunities. · Use Excel to perform statistical and heat transfer analyses on Blast Furnaces. · Develop innovative approaches to analysing and visualizing data. · Work with Companys managers, sales staff, field service representatives, and R&D personnel to provide process engineering support as required. · Support Company and the technical team with data analysis and process reviews of customers equipment mainly from a home office or regional office. This will require some travel to customers to review and discuss their process results. · Assist Companys International sales and marketing efforts by reviewing market potential and adapting Company materials, designs, and technology to new and existing applications. · Assist Companys research and development activity by accessing product performance and changing requirements, monitoring performance in established applications, directing field trials in new applications, and acting as a liaison between customers and Company sales and field service personnel in technical application matters. · Provide engineering consulting assistance to Company customers, consistent with establishing and maintaining healthy customer relations and promoting Companys interests. · Work with design engineering and construction companies to promote Companys materials, designs, and technology to their customers and to assure that acceptable design and installation parameters are followed for Companys products. · Participate in customer calls with Company representatives to assist in key account selling and troubleshooting. These visits to include international customers when necessary. · Assist the Business Manager for the ironmaking applications as well as Companies with any Blast furnace, Hot Blast Stoves or other heat containing equipment with data retrieval and organization as well as thermal calculations and process reviews. This includes participation in organizing effective strategies for applying our refractory products and services to the Iron making and related industries. · Assist with development the necessary marketing tools to effectively promote our refractory products to Ironmaking industry. Other Duties: · Monitor competitive activities and new design and material technology, both domestic and foreign. · Establish and monitor safety and job skills training programs for Company the sales/service representatives. · Follow all company rules and regulations. · Administer and comply with all EEOC, ADA, local, state, and federal laws and regulations. Qualifications: · Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in an industry-related engineering field. · Must have experience in application and design refractories for the metals industries, and a basic understanding of metallurgical processes. · An intimate understanding of Excel, Proficiency in technical computing or computational analysis, and heat transfer principles is a plus. · Must be able to work independently. · Have a valid drivers license. · Proficient in English is required. · Fluent in Afrikaans is an asset.
