We are looking for an experienced Physiotherapist to join our Client's team to be based in Kenya Salary Expat Package Negotiable Responsibilities: Complete reassessment and assessments for a patient with a spinal cord injury Analyze results of assessments and discuss with patient Create goals appropriate to patient in terms of specificity, measurability, attainable, realistic, and timeliness Develop weekly plans of therapeutic activities and exercises to work towards predetermined goals Appropriately progress treatment plans to achieve goals set by patient and therapists Document evaluations, daily notes, progress notes, and outcome measures to be shared with patient for medical records Learn safety and use of all therapy equipment Stay up to date on current spinal cord injury research and share information with patient Lead therapy sessions and provide guidance to both patients and colleagues as needed (water and land based) Provide updates to patient and team on new spinal cord injury research available and how it can be incorporated into treatment plan Monitor patients equipment and assistive devices to make recommendations for adjustments as necessary Determine appropriate devices or equipment necessary to assist patients in performing physical activities Keep workplace clean and organized Key Skills: Minimum two years experience working with patients with spinal cord injuries Fluent in English Able to confidently lead a therapy team and session Be able to lift 25kg without concern for injury to safely assist with transfers and positioning. Be physically fit to get in any positions needed to assist patient on floor, treadmill, plinth, standing, etc Medical knowledge to recognize spinal cord injury secondary effects Knowledge of anatomy and physiology in relation to physiotherapy treatments Strong communication skills to communicate between patient and therapy team on assessments, goals, therapeutic planning Possess problem solving and critical thinking skills to determine therapeutic priorities and provide progressions or adaptations to achieve desired goals Be able to establish therapy goals, and formulates a treatment plan including exercise, modalities, balance activities, and gait training.
