Paarden Eiland is seeking to appoint a Printers Mechanic within the Technical and Engineering department to assess the maintenance and mechanical requirements of jobs allocated and to execute planned and ad hoc mechanical maintenance. The successful incumbent will report to the Technical Foreman.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Preventative maintenance – lubrication, service checks, cleaning
Maintenance of production equipment
Assessing maintenance or breakdown requirements - liaise with maintenance planner
Compliance to the OHS Act by applying safe work practices
Assist Maintenance Technicians when required
Assist when required with project specific maintenance and installations as part of the project team
Monitor and ensure safety devices are all functioning fully after completion of maintenance or ad hoc jobs
Provide the required feedback into the computerised job card system
Educational Requirements
N4 Certificate
Trade test as printers mechanic, fitter and turner or other relevant trade
Experience Requirements
5 – 8 years' experience in a mechanical and maintenance environment working within a large machinery and production environment over and above
Knowledge of fault finding and repairs on hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
Knowledge on maintenance and fault finding in a high speed production equipment
Sound Knowledge of occupational health and safety standards
Knowledge of printing environment would be an advantage
