Print Technologist

An exciting opportunity exists at Nampak Metals-Springs for a Print Technologist. This position reports directly to the Unit Manager and is graded at Peromnes 09.Key Responsibilities include:Assist and support with problem areas which restrict the plant from reaching targetsLiaise with divisional planning department regarding schedule changes on an ongoing basis to ensure printing jobs are prepared accordingly to meet production requirements.Involvement in troubleshooting to investigate causes of printing defects and high spoilageLiaise with Can-makers to ensure inker units, decorator and varnish units are in perfect working condition and that correct maintenance is carried out by workshop for repeated quality printingMonitoring the purchasing of UV Coating, Ink Rollers, Blankets, and Printing Plates to be controlled within budgetTake part in improving the printing defects and spoilage.To excel in this role, the ideal candidate should posses:Be a qualified artisan (Printer Trade / Lithography) Have at least 2 - 3 years' experience in in a high-speed environment preferably in Can MakingAbility to work independently Work very closely with production departmentBe willing to work overtime / call-outs when necessaryBe able to work under pressure and with minimal supervision
