We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Video Conference Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in video conferencing systems, particularly with Polycom technology. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to enhancing communication through advanced audio and video conferencing solutions. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting video conferencing systems while ensuring optimal performance and user satisfaction.
Duties and responsibilities:
Architect and design video and audio-conferencing systems tailored to organizational needs.
Evaluate and recommend hardware and software solutions for video conferencing.
Develop detailed system documentation, including architecture diagrams and implementation plans.
Lead the implementation of video conferencing solutions, ensuring adherence to ITIL processes.
Manage the deployment of Polycom Bridge systems, ensuring integration with existing IT infrastructure.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to video and audio-conferencing systems.
Design and facilitate training programs to promote the adoption and effective use of video and audio-conferencing systems.
Create user guides and documentation to assist users in navigating video conferencing tools.
Provide ongoing support and guidance to users to enhance their experience.
Collaborate with IT teams, project managers, and stakeholders to align video conferencing solutions with business goals.
Act as a point of contact for video conferencing-related queries and escalations.
Conduct regular meetings with stakeholders to assess system performance and gather feedback.
Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies in video conferencing.
Propose enhancements to existing systems to improve functionality and user experience.
Participate in the development of best practices and standard operating procedures for video conferencing.
Requirements Qualifications and experience:
National Diploma/Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Relevant technical certification (e.g., PVCE, Polycom Video Conference Certified Systems Engineer).
Minimum of 8 years of experience in video conferencing system management and implementation.
Proven experience with Polycom systems, including management of Polycom Bridge implementations.
Strong understanding of ITIL processes and their application in technical environments.
Proficient in designing and implementing video conferencing solutions.
Hands-on experience with audio and video conferencing equipment and software.
Familiarity with network infrastructure and its impact on video conferencing performance.
