Key performance areas: Assess the adequacy of procedures, systems and controls associated with capital and operational availability and utilisation Evaluate current security and safety measures and correct deviations from set procedure Draw up and establish technical details / specifications / budget estimates and requirements for a wide range of projects and capital projects Manage the effective execution of maintenance of the functional area including the managing of contractors, tenders, RFQs associated with facilities management and substations, including tender specifications, to maximise the continual availability and serviceability facilities management within Electricity Services Monitor attendance / conduct and output and address deviations from agreed performance indicators through meetings / counseling and / or other approved methods designed to improve and motivate personnel as well as contractors Establish the adequacy and availability of personnel and contractors against agreed outcomes and motivate to the immediate manager for additional resources Conduct inspections with a view to determining the status and / or progress of work at specific locations / sites Communicate with technical departmental personnel and Site Supervisors to establish departmental teams / contractor performance levels Check details of transactional documentation (works orders, requisitions, applications, time and attendance schedules, etc.) prior to approving and submit for further processing Collate information from field reports, inspections contractual documentation for inclusion into management reports.
