Job Purpose
To originate, structure, innovate and implement sustainable finance solutions and funding transactions that would serve to maximise sustainable growth for both Nedbank and our clients. Clients include Nedbank Corporate and Investment Banking client universe.
Job Responsibilities
Build and maintain stakeholder relationships by formal and informal engagements (meetings; phone calls).
Originate new sustainable finance transactions for the bank by regular interaction and collaboration with key stakeholders via referrals and networking.
Develop and position relevant and commercial sustainable finance ideas/solutions with clients to support the origination and implementation of banking activities.
Collaborate and form part of client service teams to develop and embed sustainable finance offering into client proposition and sector strategies.
Apply key sustainable finance LMA and ICMA principles to structuring solutions and apply Nedbank's sustainable finance structuring methodology and assessment frameworks.
Oversee and manage transactions in a cost-effective manner by conducting cost-benefit analysis of various origination and execution strategies.
Ensure continuous pitching to target clients by identifying their needs and presenting appropriate solutions.
Gain an in-depth understanding of clients' sustainability journeys and provide advice, market insights, and appropriate solutions.
Develop and advise on ESG structures for positioning in the market under syndicated transactions.
Develop sustainability information memoranda and relevant content for client or investor positioning.
Identify and develop innovative, value-adding solutions to enhance competitiveness of the bank.
Carry out and ensure relevant sustainable finance solutions/services are implemented.
Formulate responses to Requests for Proposals issued by clients.
Ensure timely submission of client proposals and internal submissions by effectively planning and engaging stakeholders.
Ensure compliance by adhering to rules from the regulator, policies, and procedures.
Work with junior team members, reviewing deliverables and assisting in problem-solving.

Apply established assessment and solutioning guidelines and frameworks.
Prepare and present to the Climate and Sustainability Committee where appropriate.

Essential Qualifications - NQF Level
Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees.
Preferred Qualification
Bachelor of Business Science, Chartered Accountant (SA), Chartered Financial Analyst, MBA, CFA ESG certificate, LLB will be advantageous.
Minimum Experience Level
8-12 years relevant sector/industry experience.
