Job DescriptionKey Role & Responsibilities:Able to work independently in the Structural Engineering field. Plans, organizes and controls complex projects, and makes recommendations on alternate solutions to engineering problems. Able to prepare and present technical reports. Demonstrates extensive competency and experience of providing support in delivery of a range of projects of varying scale (Leadership Exposure – People/Project/Client/Technical leader).The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:Design and manage structural engineering projects in a multi-disciplinary consulting engineering environment.Responsible for analysis/review of reinforced concrete and steel structures.Delivery of projects following a modern BIM workflow; operate Revit models and cloud base platforms.Demonstrate a good understanding of structural element estimates, practical construction methods and economic considerations.Able to prepare paperless structural schemes.Responsible for leading small design teams.Produce quality work that conforms to WSP ISO quality standards.Monitor and manage the design teams to meet deadlines.Client and project team liaison.Manage multiple projects including project finance and resources.Assist in team management with the senior leadership team.Health and Safety:Role model for SHEQ performance and behavior consistent with the company's health, safety, environmental and quality vision and policies by influencing those around you. Embracing, displaying and promoting the company values and ensuring a safe working environment is always maintained.QualificationsBSc Eng/BEng/BSc (Hons) in Structural Engineering.MEng/MSc is advantageous.7 or more years' experience mainly in structural engineering.Registered as PrEng with ECSA; civil engineering experience advantageous.Project Management experience advantageous.Key Competencies and Generic Skills:Proven record of delivering in a deadline-oriented environment.Excellent people skills – clients and staff.Self-driven personality (focused, systematic and controlled).Computer literacy: Working knowledge of standard office software (e.g. MS Office Suite) essential.Proficiency in BIM software packages (e.g. Revit, CAD).Proficiency in Prokon design software is essential.Proficiency in Finite Element design software is necessary and of advantage (SAFE, ETABS, Robot or similar).Proficiency in simple programming (e.g. MS Excel) essential.Proficiency in visual programming environment and parametric design (e.g. Rhino & Grasshopper) is advantageous.Ability to interact with the office team and construction team.Valid ID/Driver's License.Take pride and ownership in one's work.Client focused (Client retention/development).Able/Willing to travel.Additional InformationWhat's in it for you?What if we can have work-life balance?
