This role will lead and realise the Power-as-a Service (PaaS) energy performance and optimisation strategies and techniques.
This includes technical solution gap analysis and upgrade solutions, solution optimization and site power integration and maintenance planning, ensuring power reliability (site uptime), with a full site power total cost of ownership (profit and loss) responsibility.Your responsibilities will include:Power as a Service (PaaS)Analyse and optimise site-specific power strategies based on different customer requirements.Support the operations and maintenance partners by identifying clear techniques and strategies to realise the best possible power provision capability per site.Align technical and commercial models to minimise total cost impact of network management for MAST.Thought leaderManage and collaborate with the Power team and external stakeholders regarding innovative site-specific power design and optimisation solutions.Work with suppliers of products in identifying and implementing best of class solutions.Supplier and contract managementDevelop and design structures to monitor, evaluate and manage supplier solutions, contractors, and 3rd parties' performance against their contracted scope of work.Financial management & reportingResponsible for the formulation and management of all power related operational elements relating to the CAPEX and OPEX requirements.Lead and realise dashboards to enable management visibility on the site-specific power performance.Oversee the design reporting to identify technical solutions to drive better financial management and improve profitability.Compliance managementSupport the MAST preparation for ISO compliance and certification.Design solutions to continuously improve compliance management of MAST and its operations.The ideal candidate for this role will have:Must have technical /professional qualificationsGrade 12 is essential.Possessing a 3-year related electrical qualification, such as a diploma or bachelor's degree, registered as a master electrician with the department of labour.Minimum of 5 years of hands-on working experience within the telecommunications sector.Preference will be given to candidates with experience within a research and development team.Core competencies, knowledge, and experienceDeep understanding of existing, new, and emerging Power/Energy technologies.Strong technical experience across multiple delivery areas and vendors.Technical problem-solving skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Excellent relationship building, teamwork, and collaboration skills.We make an impact by offering:Enticing incentive programs, competitive benefit packages, and an exclusive 13th cheque.Retirement funds, risk benefits, and medical aid benefits.Cell phone and data benefits, advantages fibre connection discounts, and exclusive staff discounts.Closing date for Applications: 17 January 2025The base location for this role is, MAST, Knightsbridge.The Company's approved Employment Equity Plan and Targets will be considered as part of the recruitment process.
