Role Overview: How you will impact the product will be far and wide. Your previous experience as a Software Engineer and a long track record of successfully delivering solutions in complex design and development projects will be essential. You will be responsible for solving complex technical problems and identifying solutions with minimal guidance and support. This role will allow you to act as the technical authority, with influence and respect across multiple squads, disciplines, and projects. You will proactively drive cross-team initiatives, championing KingMakers engineering principles and guiding others through pragmatic technical choices and trade-offs. You will actively help lead engineering technology strategy for your area of the business, not only in the present but also for the future.
What You Will Be Doing: Software Engineering: Leads core functionality development and defines the technical vision for several systems, shaping the engineering roadmap and driving sub-domain deliverables. Delivering Quality Software: Guides sub-domain test strategy and contributes to domain-wide testing. Sets processes and acceptance criteria for high-quality outcomes. Functional & Business Requirements: Transforms ambiguous requirements into clear, actionable specifications for sub-domain systems and serves as a technical expert. Design & Documentation: Develops high-level designs that meet business needs, reviews sub-domain system designs, and ensures technical standards. Delivering Maintainable Software: Defines business KPIs to be tracked across sub-domain systems for effective monitoring. Code Review: Elevates code quality across the sub-domain, reviews key functionalities, and establishes coding standards. Tools & IDE: Chooses the optimal programming languages, IDEs, platforms, and engineering principles for sub-domain systems. On-call Culture: Establishes and promotes live site processes and policies, enhancing reliability and ensuring thorough documentation. What You Need for This Role: Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor's/Master's in Engineering, Computer Science, or similar. Over 10 years of experience in Software Engineering design and development. Expertise in full-stack development, REST principles, design, implementation, testing, support, and documentation. Experience mentoring and coaching other engineers. Experience designing robust engineering best practices. Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Advanced skills using Microsoft Technologies: C#, .Net Core, SQL Server, Azure. NoSQL Experience using MongoDB or Cosmos. Containerization Experience using Docker/AKS. Caching: Redis. Messaging: Kafka and RabbitMQ. Version Control: Proficient with Git and related workflows. Build Tools: Familiarity with modern back-end build tools. Testing: Experience with unit and end-to-end testing methodologies. API Integration: Proficiency in working with RESTful APIs. Security Best Practices: Understanding of vulnerabilities and mitigation best practices. Architecture Patterns: Familiarity with component-based design and micro-backend services. DevOps/CI/CD: Basic understanding of CI/CD practices.
