JOB DESCRIPTION: We are looking for an experienced, innovative, and inspirational leader to take on the role of Principal at our Preparatory School.
As Principal, you will be responsible for the overall strategic leadership and operational management of the school.
You will work closely with staff, learners, parents, and the school's governing body to ensure the school continues to thrive and uphold the JEQ vision, mission and values of excellence, inclusivity, and integrity.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead the strategic direction of the school, ensuring its vision and mission are clearly defined and embraced by all stakeholders.
Oversee academic programs and curriculum delivery to ensure the highest standards of education.
Foster a positive school culture that promotes learner well-being, academic achievement, and personal growth.
Manage and mentor staff, supporting professional development and ensuring a collaborative, high-performance team environment.
Engage with parents and maintain public relations, building strong relationships and consistent communications.
Ensure financial sustainability through effective budget management and resource allocation.
Ensure compliance with educational standards and regulations.
Promote the school's ethos of inclusion, diversity, and respect for all.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: A Bachelor's degree in Education and/or degree in a professional related field.
Be registered with SACE.
Minimum of 8 years teaching experience, of which 3 years must have been part of senior management roles.
A proven track record of leadership experience in an educational setting.
Strong understanding of educational pedagogy and curriculum development.
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
A passion for working with young children and a deep commitment to fostering a positive, nurturing learning environment.
Strong managerial experience with the ability to inspire and motivate staff.
Experience in strategic planning and decision-making.
In-depth knowledge of the Grade 1 to Grade 6 curriculum.
Excellent verbal and written English proficiency.
Proficiency in Afrikaans would be advantageous.
Advanced knowledge and experience in the use of Information Computer Technology and Programs, especially systems used by WCED and cloud computing.
