Hire Resolve's client is urgently seeking the expertise of a Principal Infrastructure Engineer in East London, EC.
Responsibilities: Effective project Planning, Initiation and resource managementPlanning and management of the engineering aspects of the project in terms of scope, time, cost and qualityAdherence to project approval procedures and quality plans in line with statutory, client and company policies and ensure risk areas are diligently identified and adequately mitigated and corrective procedures are implementedAssistance with compiling accurate project cost estimates and cash flow projectionsInteract regularly with the client to be abreast of their needs and requirements and ensure these are implemented on projectsAssistance with the preparation of the tender evaluation reports in line with client/statutory requirements and company standardsCompilation of project team job specifications and supervising the tendering processMake recommendations for the appointment of project teams as appropriateLiaison with the project team and remain in touch for the duration of the projectEffective undertaking of site investigation, technical and feasibility studiesPlan, manage, lead and/or undertake site investigations and project feasibility studies as appropriatePrepare/ review reports on project feasibility and designsAssess/review the sustainability and environmental impacts of projectsAccurate preparation of preliminary designs and developing detailed designPrepare/review preliminary design plans and calculations and check compliance with accepted design codes and client standardsCompile project objectives and ensure project team develops compliant detailed designs using approved computer softwareEnsure that design and development challenges are resolved in a promptly or to agreed timeframesAttend and participate in design and/or project co-ordination meetingsPrepare or oversee the preparation of preliminary and final design reports with cost estimates and recommendations and present to the Clients as appropriateEffective Contract AdministrationExercise administrative and technical responsibility and authority for allocated tasks to the project teamsCompile contract documentation in line with client standards and oversee the preparation of accurate measurements and ensure that the Works is adequately covered in the schedules of quantitiesPrepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends and recommending actions for the ClientPrepare reports as required by project funding agencies, both public and privateCompilation of the monthly project cost reportsAdminister the contract between the client and contractor efficiently and effectively as provided for in the contract document and in line with statutory requirementsReview Contractor payment applications and prepare accurate variation ordersEnsure that the monthly contractor's payment certificates are submitted to the client timeously and in line with contractual stipulationsChair/Attend monthly site (progress) meetings and technical meetingsEffective Project ManagementLiaise with the Client and a variety of professionals, contractors and subcontractorsMonitor and inspect work undertaken by contractors including hazard identification and risk assessmentManage budgets and project resourcesEnsure that projects run smoothly, and are completed within budget and on timeEnsure that projects comply with legal requirements, especially health and safetyMaintain a safe working environment by enforcing procedures, rules and regulationsOversee CAD personnel to translate designs into professional engineering drawingsRequirements:Good communication skills - both written and oralOrganised, motivated and goal orientatedAble to work independently, as well as part of a team both in person and virtualAble to work efficiently under pressureQualifications, Skills & Experience:BSc Eng or BEng or BTech in the Civil Engineering fieldRegistered with ECSA as PrEng /Pr. TechnologistMinimum of 8 years' experience after obtaining qualificationExperience in Civil Engineering projects.
