Both operations are located in the Kalahari Basin, home to 80 per cent of the world's manganese reserves.WHAT SOUTH32 OFFERS:Annual short-term incentive bonus that recognizes both your individual performance and the overall success of the business.Eligible employees will receive an employer contribution towards the company-elected retirement fund.South32 will support assistance for part-time studies aligned to role requirements and business needs at accredited institutions for eligible employees.ABOUT THE ROLE:This role is a permanent full-time position.As a Principal Communications, you will be responsible for leading and managing all strategic communication requirements to support internal operational objectives, promote a positive reputation with local, district, and provincial stakeholders, and demonstrate South32's commitment to fulfilling its stated purpose.Other key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:Strategic development of the MnSA Communications Plan (internal and external) in line with the South Africa Manganese business plan, and stakeholder and community plans;Execute all media engagement and communications in accordance with the South Africa Manganese Communications Plan and corporate requirements;Ensure alignment with and input from operational stakeholders, leadership, and the Corporate Affairs team;Ensure all communications content and materials are delivered in line with company procedures and protocols and adhere to the Corporate Affairs Standard and associated guidelines;Lead site-based crisis communications response and participate in Incident Management Teams when required;Lead local issues management and reputation management;Maintain all shared drives and document repository for South Africa Manganese Corporate Affairs.ABOUT YOU:You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:Must have a minimum of 10 years in a senior communications role, including issues management and crisis communications;Demonstrable experience in managing end-to-end communications programs;Experience in the extractive sector, preferably in the Northern Cape.Qualifications for this role are:National Diploma or Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Business, or related discipline.South32 is committed to building and maintaining an inclusive and diverse workforce that reflects the communities in which we operate.
