PROJECT PLANNER – CONTRACT (ZIMBABWE)Reference: JHB000153-MR-2A dynamic South African Project Management Consulting Company based in Pretoria requires the full-time services of a qualified and experienced Primavera Project Planner with knowledge of mega projects in mining, for a contract opportunity, working in SA and on-site in Zimbabwe - 6 months contract (till September 2024), with a strong possibility of a 24 months extension thereafter. Working on a rotational basis, but mostly on site at an internationally renowned mining company.Challenging career opportunity for a mature individual who works well under pressure in a dynamic environment.Duties & ResponsibilitiesWorking in the Project Controls environment, manage and maintain project schedule by:Planning and setting up of project schedule with project stakeholders' input using PrimaveraFollowing project planning processes and company procedure on all assigned projectsEnsure consistency and reliable progress reportingHighlight any deviation within the programme to the Project Manager, and assist with innovative and appropriate planning adviceImplement planning logic, understanding interdependencies and knock-on effectsHighlight critical path, Earned Value and appropriate resource loadingTrack baseline vs actual progress on schedulesHighlight risks to ensure project completion on time - raise early warnings with possible impacts to project scheduleWeekly reporting to internal and external parties by means of schedule updates and progress reportingAssist subcontractors, align, and integrate project schedules and progress reportsThe role requires time on site in ZimbabweUnderstanding of bespoke consulting business models and ability to do business developmentDesired Experience & QualificationRelevant qualification and professional registration recommended6-10+ years' experience in mining projectsExperience in a similar role, planning of large construction and installation projectsPrimavera P6 and MS Projects knowledge essentialSound understanding of fabrication and installation projectsDriven 'Can-do' attitude, with a passion for mega projectsProcess orientated and assertive to ensure that complex projects are executed in accordance with company established practices and safety requirementsBias for action based on logical problem solving and experienceAble to work under pressure and to communicate effectively with a wide range of project stakeholdersAttention to detail to ensure the accuracy of the outputsAnalytical thinker, energetic and flexibleMust have EPCM Contract experiencePower BI experience recommendedMust be willing and medically fit to work on mining/construction sitesPackage & RemunerationMarket related - negotiable depending on qualifications and experienceInterested?Please submit detailed and updated CV in MS Word format ASAP!Kindly take note:Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.Should you not receive any feedback within 30 days of application, please consider your application unsuccessful.
