Job Description Job Overview: Our client seeks to employ an experienced and dedicated individual to join our school to head the reading programme called Stimulus Maksima for Grade 1-6 learners.
The ideal candidate will work closely with the Departmental Heads for both phases, Principal, be able to work independently and requires minimal supervision.
Requirements Key Responsibilities: 1.
Implementation of Lesson Plans: Effectively follow the provided lesson plans and structure to ensure learners meet learning objectives in both English and Afrikaans.
Adapt these plans as needed to meet diverse needs of the learners.
2.
Differentiated Instruction: Tailor teaching strategies to accommodate varying reading levels and linguistic backgrounds, ensuring every learner can progress through the programme levels.
3.
Literacy Development: Foster a love for reading by creating an engaging and supportive learning environment.
Encourage learners to explore literature in both languages.
4.
Progress Monitoring: Assess learners progress through regular evaluations and observations.Provide feedback and adjust strategies to promote continual improvement.
5.
Professional Development: Attend training sessions to stay updated on educational practices and methodologies in language teaching, enhancing teaching effectiveness.
6.
Technological Proficiency: Utilise computer skills to integrate educational technology into lessons, enabling interactive and modern learning experiences.
7.
Resource Management: Organise and manage reading materials and resources effectively,ensuring accessibility for all learners.
9.
Classroom Management: Maintain a well-ordered and respectful classroom environment that is conducive to learning.
10.
Cultural Sensitivity: Promote an understanding and appreciation for both languages and   cultures, helping learners to gain bilingual competence.
Qualifications and Skills: - Holds a Bachelor of Education (BEd) degree in Foundation Phase/ Currently in the process of completing a degree in Education.
- SACE or provisionally registered.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively in both English and Afrikaans.
- Ability to work collaboratively and build positive relationships with team members.
- Computer literate and excellent time management skills.
