The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing competitive rates, preparing quotations, and assisting with business implementation processes for new customers. This role requires a proactive, solutions-driven individual with strong industry knowledge, particularly in shipping and logistics.THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTIn order to be shortlisted for this role, you have the following skills and experience, but not limited to:Matric and a Sales/Marketing Degree or Diploma.3-5 years of experience in the shipping industry, handling imports, exports, containers, break bulk, and dangerous goods.Strong understanding of supply chain and logistics, cross-border movements, and associated documentation.Sound knowledge of INCOTERMS.JOB DESCRIPTIONThe role responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Customer CareTo respond promptly to customer queries and requests.Ensure that customers receive exceptional customer serviceNew Sales OpportunitiesResearch and analyse new logistics opportunities and product flows by means of quotationsAssist with tender submissions as requiredNegotiate rates with service providers – transporters and shipping linesArrange and conduct site visits for customers/potential customers as and when requiredEnsure credit applications and standard trading conditions are completed correctly when new customers are securedReporting and AdministrationPrepare and provide reports to the line managerMaintain service provider and client information on ongoing basisCompliance with all company policies and procedures.Be available to assist with additional tasks or work overflow.Please be advised that only shortlisted candidates that meet the specific skills and experience required will be contacted for an initial telephone interview by one of our consultants.
