IntroductionA challenging opportunity has become available for a self-motivated, driven and innovative individual to join Grindrod Logistics Africa (Pty) Ltd at their offices in Durban.The candidate will be responsible for identifying and sourcing competitive rates and submitting proposals/quotations to customers to assist in concluding business deals across Grindrod Logistics Africa. The candidate will assist new customers and service providers with the business implementation process and ensure they are properly embedded into Grindrod Logistics Africa's business processes.The successful applicant will be responsible for but not limited to:Customer CareTo respond promptly to customer queries and requests.Ensure that customers receive exceptional customer service.Collect and update information from service providers.New Sales OpportunitiesResearch and analyse new logistics opportunities and product flows by means of quotations.Assist with tender submissions as required.Negotiate rates with service providers – transporters and shipping lines.Offer operational support when necessary.Arrange and conduct site visits for customers/potential customers as and when required.Ensure credit applications and standard trading conditions are completed correctly when new customers are secured.Reporting and AdministrationPrepare and provide reports to the line manager.Maintain service provider and client information on an ongoing basis.Compliance with all company policies and procedures.Be available to assist with additional tasks or work overflow.Minimum RequirementsQualification:Matric.Sales and Marketing Degree/Diploma or similar.Experience:3-5 years' working experience in the shipping industry covering exposure to imports and exports of cargo in containers, break bulk, bulk as well as dangerous goods.Good understanding of supply chain and logistics industry with sound knowledge of cross border movements and associated procedures and documentation required.Sound knowledge of INCOTERMS.Knowledge and experience of related computer applications.Applicants to send their CVs to the HR Department on email: ****** the name of the position as a reference on your application.Application date closes 11 September 2024
