JOB PURPOSE
A position is available for a dynamic, enthusiastic, well presented individual with strong interpersonal skills and a passion for people to oversee the practice operations of one of our busy clinics. As a member of the team, you would be responsible for developing good patient relationships, while delivering high quality technical patient care and effective support to our Ophthalmologists in the form of specialized testing and imaging and practice management.
Team members must be professional, dependable, exhibit excellent communication skills and be motivated to excel. Must be capable of multitasking and be able to prioritize and juggle responsibilities and be an efficient problem-solver.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
1. Overseeing daily operations: Managing the day-to-day functioning of the practice, including scheduling, patient flow, and ensuring efficient use of resources.
2. Staff management: Hiring, training, and supervising administrative and clinical staff, including receptionists, technicians, and billing personnel.
3. Patient care coordination: Ensuring patients receive timely care, handling complaints, and maintaining high standards of patient satisfaction.
4. Billing oversight: Ensuring accurate billing
5. Inventory and equipment management: Managing supplies, medical equipment maintenance, and ensuring the practice is stocked with necessary materials.
6. Marketing and business development: Implementing strategies to attract new patients, including managing online presence, advertising, and community reach.
7. Data management and reporting: Maintaining accurate patient records, generating reports on practice performance, and using data analytics to improve operations.
8. Strategic planning: Collaborating with physicians and stakeholders to set long-term goals for practice growth, expansion, or technology adoption.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(s)
1. Grade 12
2. Ophthalmic assistant level 2 qualification.
3. Computer literate
4. Knowledge of basic medical terminology
5. Experience in an ophthalmology practice
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
1. 3 to 5 years of clinical experience in ophthalmology, often as an Ophthalmic Assistant or Technician.
2. Experience in conducting patient assessments, diagnostic testing, assisting in procedures, and using ophthalmic equipment.
3. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and medical documentation in an ophthalmology setting.
