Do you have a sharp understanding of risk management, underwriting principles, and client relationship management?
We are looking for a Portfolio Specialist to join our dynamic team and take charge of overseeing and optimizing our insurance portfolio performance.
Key Responsibilities: Portfolio Management: Oversee the performance and profitability of the companys insurance portfolios, ensuring they align with business objectives.
Regularly review and analyze portfolio metrics, loss ratios, and risk exposure to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
Risk Assessment & Underwriting Support: Collaborate with underwriters to assess risks, evaluate coverage needs, and ensure that policies meet the company's risk appetite.
Provide expert input on pricing strategies, underwriting guidelines, and risk mitigation measures.
Market Research & Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of market trends, industry changes, and emerging risks that could impact portfolio performance.
Use insights to drive strategic decision-making and keep the company ahead of market shifts.
Client & Broker Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers, and other key stakeholders.
Communicate portfolio performance, address client queries, and assist in resolving any issues related to policy coverage or claims.
Strategic Planning & Growth: Work closely with senior management to develop and implement strategies aimed at expanding and diversifying the companys portfolio.
Identify new business opportunities, cross-sell existing products, and contribute to the overall business development process.
Reporting & Performance Tracking: Prepare detailed reports on portfolio performance, including profitability, risk exposure, and underwriting results.
Present findings to internal teams and stakeholders, providing actionable recommendations to optimize portfolio health.
Compliance & Regulatory Adherence: Ensure all portfolio management activities adhere to regulatory guidelines and industry standards.
Stay updated on relevant compliance regulations and adjust portfolio practices as needed.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including claims, finance, actuarial, and sales, to ensure a cohesive approach to portfolio management and overall company objectives.
Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in finance, insurance, business, or a related field.
A minimum number of years' experience in portfolio management within the insurance industry.
Strong understanding of underwriting principles, risk assessment, and insurance products.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Proficiency in insurance-related software and portfolio management tools.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards in the insurance industry.
