Job Title:AccountantLocation: SandtonDepartment: Finance and RiskRole Purpose: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to accurately control and process financial information, prepare financial reports, and provide analysis to support business processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial management and a commitment to delivering high-quality service to both internal and external stakeholders.Key Responsibilities:Manage the accounting function for assigned portfolios, ensuring accurate and timely capturing and reporting of transactions.Review and/or prepare payment documents, ensuring compliance with necessary documentation and authorization processes.Prepare and review financial transactions, including monthly and year-end reconciliations.Identify, investigate, and resolve accounting or reporting issues within assigned portfolios.Ensure all documentation is properly authorized and address any exceptions with relevant stakeholders.Contribute to the enhancement of financial management systems and processes.Provide expert advice and support to clients and stakeholders.Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal teams.Deliver on service level agreements and continually seek opportunities to improve client service.Participate in the audit process, preparing necessary documentation and resolving queries promptly.Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with peers and stakeholders.Participate in change initiatives and contribute to a culture of continuous innovation.Take ownership of personal career development and continuously enhance professional, industry, and legislative knowledge.Control and track budgets for assigned portfolios, contributing to the budgeting process with relevant reports and analysis.Manage financial risk and implement effective financial controls to enhance cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency.Ensure compliance with financial policies and practices, and investigate any instances of non-compliance.Qualifications:Education:Diploma in Financial Management or Accounting.Degree in Financial Management or Accounting (preferred).Experience:3-5 years of experience in accounting.Skills:Strong business acumen with an understanding of key issues and risks in financial management.Proficiency in financial reporting, budgeting, and risk management.Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships.Commitment to client-centric service delivery.What We Offer:Competitive salary and benefits package.Opportunities for professional development and growth.A dynamic and supportive work environment.If you are a motivated and experienced accountant looking to make an impact in a fast-paced environment, we encourage you to apply.
